Visitors with pacemakers
Very strong magnetic fields that wave at a rate of 10 hertz (ten times per second) can affect the operation of a pacemaker, specifically if held directly against the chest or within 30 cm. However modern pacemakers are extremely advanced and are not affected by household appliances, including computers.
Avoid leaning against speakers in individual exhibits and resting exhibit headphones on your chest. Do not stand close to or touch Van de Graaff generators or people connected to them.
